How we handle your data
This policy describes what information Five More Minutes collects, why, where it is stored, how long we keep it and how you delete it. It covers the phone app, the parent portal and the Five More Minutes Clock program on the child’s computer and TV.

1. Data controller
Kristian Bendrén, Vasatorpsvägen 1G, 254 57 Helsingborg, Sweden is the data controller. You can reach us at [email protected].
2. What we collect
- Account
- Name and email address when you create an account. Your password is handled by our sign-in service and stored only as a one-way hash.
- Household and children
- The household’s name, time zone and language, and the names you give children and other parents.
- Computers and TVs
- The computer’s or TV’s name, platform, program version, when it was last online and, while it is online, the name of the app in the foreground (computers only).
- Play time and history
- Timers you start, extensions, locks, the child’s requests and the answers, and how much time was used.
- Messages
- What you and the child write to each other in the conversation for a computer or TV.
- Suggestions and ratings
- What you write in “Suggest something”, with any stars, the kind of suggestion, the app’s version and which household it came from.
- Push token
- A technical key that lets us send notifications to your phone. A notification never contains what was written in a message.
- Technical logs
- When the service is called we keep technical details such as time, address, IP address and error messages, to troubleshoot and protect the service.
- Plugins
- If you connect a plugin: its key (stored as a one-way hash) and a log of what the key has done.
- Plan and payment
- If you buy a plan: which plan, how often you pay, whether it is paid and when it renews. Card details and the billing address are handled by our payment provider Stripe; we never see or store your card number.
- Administration
- The person who runs the service can, in a separate administration site, see the names of households, people and computers, the plan and whether it is paid, and how much the service is used, to give support and run the service. The site does not show what is written in conversations. What you send in as suggestions can be read, so that we can answer. Sign-ins and changes there are logged.
We do not collect location, contacts, photos, audio or advertising identifiers, and the apps contain no advertising or third-party analytics.
3. Why we process it
We use the data to deliver the service: counting down time, showing history, letting the child ask for more time and write to you, sending notifications and managing your account. Technical logs are used to troubleshoot and protect the service. We do not use the data for advertising or profiling.
Legal basis: contract (to deliver the service you asked for) and legitimate interest (security and troubleshooting).
4. Children’s data
The service is used by parents, and children have no accounts of their own. What a child writes in the conversation, how much time is used and (on computers) which app is in the foreground is linked to the parent’s household and shown to the parents. You, as the parent, are responsible for telling the child that the service is in use. We do not collect children’s email addresses, location or photos and do not use children’s data for anything other than the service.
5. Where it is stored
Data is stored and processed in Microsoft Azure in Sweden (EU).
6. Third parties
- Microsoft Azure
- Hosting and storage in the EU.
- Cloudflare
- A network service in front of our websites and API: traffic passes through Cloudflare, which sees technical details such as IP address.
- Expo, Apple and Google
- Delivering notifications to your phone. A notification only says who wrote or that something happened, never the content of a message.
- App Store and Google Play
- Downloading and updating the app.
- Stripe
- Payments, if you buy a plan: Stripe receives your payment details, sends receipts and keeps invoices. We are told which plan you bought and whether it is paid.
We never sell your data and do not share it with others for advertising.
7. How long we keep it
- Account, household, computers, rules, history, suggestions
- Until you delete your account.
- Messages and timer events in the conversation
- 180 days, then they are removed automatically. You can also clear a conversation yourself.
- Log of what a plugin did
- 30 days.
- Technical logs
- A limited time, normally at most 90 days. This includes the event log of our sign-in service.
- Plan and payment
- With us until you delete your account. At Stripe, invoices and payments are kept for as long as the accounting law requires, even after you delete your account.
- Backups
- Deleted data disappears from our backups within 14 days.
- A note that an account was deleted
- One line saying that a household was deleted, when and by whom, with a number but no names. It is kept so that we can show the deletion was done.
8. How to delete your account
- Open the Five More Minutes app, go to Settings and at the bottom choose Delete my account. Type DELETE to confirm.
- Or sign in to the parent portal at admin.fivemoreminutes.app, open Settings and choose Delete my account.
- If you are the only parent, the whole household is deleted: the computers, the children, rules, time, messages, suggestions and plugin keys. If you pay for a plan, it ends at once and you are not billed again. If another parent is still in the household, only you are deleted and the household stays: what you wrote in conversations stays there without your name, the computers you added stay with the household, and what you sent in as suggestions is deleted.
- Your login is deleted too. This cannot be undone.
If you cannot sign in, you can ask us to delete the account by writing to [email protected] from the email address on the account. We confirm by email when it is done.
9. Your rights
Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) you have the right to access, correct, delete and move your data, and to object to or restrict certain processing.
Contact us at [email protected]. You can also lodge a complaint with the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection (IMY).
10. Changes
If the policy changes in a way that affects you we will say so in the app, and the date at the top changes.
