Create an account

1. Go to admin.fivemoreminutes.app on your phone or computer and choose Create an account.
2. Enter your name and email and confirm the address.
3. Name the household and choose a language and time zone. Done – now you can add your first computer.

Set up the child’s computer

1. Open Add your first computer in the portal and copy the setup link, or go to 5more.app/setup on the child’s computer.
2. Download and install Five More Minutes for Windows or Mac. Installing asks for an administrator’s password, so it has to be done from a parent’s account.
3. When it finishes, the setup opens by itself and shows a QR code and a six-character code.
4. Type the code into the portal and say whose computer it is. The code is good for five minutes. Done – the computer appears as a card.

Give time and messages

Tap Give time, choose how long and what happens when time is up: cut the internet, cover the screen or both.

You can also send a message that appears on top of the game, such as “Dinner is ready” or “Time for homework”. Pick a suggestion or write your own.

During the countdown, tap +5 min or Cancel in the app or straight from the notification.

Requests

Your child can ask for more time from the countdown on the computer. You get a notification and can give all of it, half, or deny.

Turn it on or off per child under Settings → Schedule & daily limit.

Set one daily limit for weekdays and one for weekends, and a time after which no timers can start or be extended.

You can always give more than the limit – the app asks first.

The computer shows as offline

Is it switched off?

Then that’s expected. It reconnects when it starts.

Does it have internet?

Check that it is connected to the network.

Still offline?

Open “Five More Minutes Clock Setup” on the computer (Start menu on Windows, Applications on a Mac), or reinstall from 5more.app/setup. If that does not help, write to us.

Uninstall

From a computer: remove the computer in the app under Settings, then uninstall Five More Minutes in Windows under Settings → Apps.

Delete your account: go to Settings in the app and choose Delete my account. All history is removed. Read more in the privacy policy.
