For developers
Build a plugin
Connect your smart home, your network or something else entirely to Five More Minutes. It's free to make, free to list, and open source throughout.
Listing a plugin is a pull request to the registry, reviewed by a person before anyone sees it.
One key, one computer
A plugin talks to the service through a key a parent makes on purpose. The key opens exactly one computer's timer, from the home network, and nothing else.
Your plugin, your code
A plugin runs on your own side — in Home Assistant, on a Homey, in a container — never on ours. We don't run, store or review your code; the registry only reviews what the plugin is allowed to do.
Two starter projects
A Node.js and a Python example, each with a client, an event helper and tests, so there's no blank page to start from.
What a plugin can do
- Read whether time is running and how much is left
- Start, extend, end and cancel a timer
- See a child’s requests for more time
- Receive signed webhook deliveries when something happens
How to build and list a plugin
- Make a key for your own computer in the portal, under Plugins → For developers.
- Start from the Node.js or Python starter project.
- Read the API reference: it is small.
- Open a pull request to the registry to list it. A person reviews the manifest before it appears.
